My name is Aidan and I am in 8th grade. When I heard about TREP$, I wanted to do something that nobody thought about. I was on YouTube one day, and I saw somebody using a 3D printer. That gave me the idea to invest in a 3D printer. When I got it, I thought about all of the possibilities that I can do with one. The first idea that came to mind was to print things for TREP$. I joined TREP$ and I went to all of the meetings. The last meeting until the Marketplace came. I hadn’t even started making my products yet. That night, I started printing them. I chose to make dinosaurs and robots, and it took 2 hours to make each. It took about 1 – 1 ½ weeks to print about 20. I thought that was enough until I realized how many people were expected to come. I had to print continuously until I ran out of material. The final result was 30 items.
The night of the Marketplace came fast. I thought that I was going to make a lot of money when I went in. I was very nervous when I was setting up. We took a group picture then it was officially open. I ran back to my table and waited. I didn’t know how many I was going to sell. The first 10 minutes went by without any sales. I didn’t think I was going to sell anything, until the first customer came. He bought 1 item and that made me excited. All of a sudden, so many people came up and bought things. The final result was $188 and I priced the items at $6 for 1 and $10 for 2. The thing that I would do differently next time is that I would make more, a wider variety and I would make them earlier.
