Meet Jayden of Wantage Ave Must Haves! He is a student at Frankford Township School in Frankford, NJ, and we are proud to showcase his business as this month’s TREP$ Student Spotlight. Jayden is being featured, as we noticed how well he is using social media as a a tool to promote his business! His school’s TREP$ Marketplace will be held on March 29, 2023. We recently had a chance to ask this young entrepreneur about his business.
What is your product and how or why did you choose it?
My products are beaded keychains, lanyards, and pens. I chose them because they are trending on social media right now.
What new skills did you have to learn to make your product?
I learned different techniques and ways to make keychains and the other products. I studied YouTube tutorials and other small business videos.
What part of your business has been the most challenging so far and why?
The most challenging part so far has been learning how much time and money is involved in order to show a profit.
Tell us about your use of social media.
I have been using Instagram, Facebook and TikTok. This helps because it shows previews of the products I will be selling at the TREP$ Marketplace. It will help to bring more people into the event to enjoy what all of the kids have made.
Do you think you will continue to be an entrepreneur?
I definitely feel like after TREP$, I will continue to do this because I enjoy it and think that it will be a great hit. I plan to do “pop up” tables at garage sales and town-wide sales. Entrepreneurship is a commitment, but it is one I am willing to make!
